Eventing Championships

2026 Area 1 Championships

Huntington Farm H.T 

South Stratford, VT

August 22-23, 2026

The Area 1 Championships are held on an annual basis and take place within Area 1 usually late summer or early fall. Host sites are to be announced annually at the Area 1 Annual Meeting and deadlines to apply for to host the Championship are due by November 1 prior to the targeted host event. If you are an organizer interested in hosting please see the Guidelines for Hosting Area 1 Championships and notify Area 1 Chairman, Judy Rossi (rossijr1@gmail.com).

Championship Levels:
Preliminary, Modified, Training, Novice, Beginner Novice, and Starter.

Championship Divisions:
If sufficient entries (each division must have at least 5 riders), the division may be split between Junior and Senior. Levels may also be divided into Open, Rider, and Horse Championships.

The qualifying period is July 29, 2025 through August 4, 2026. In the qualifying period horse and rider combinations must meet all the requirements listed here.  It is the responsibility of the competitor to know the know the qualifications and terms of these championships and enter in accordance with those specifications. 

IMPORTANT DATES: 

July 29, 2025 – Qualifying Period Begins
July 7, 2026 – Championship Entries Open
August 4, 2026 – Championships Entries Close & Qualification Period Ends 
August 22, 2026 – 2026 Area 1 Championships Begins

Additional Championship Opportunities:
USEA American Eventing Championships – The USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC) presented by Nutrina Feed  is a national championship that runs on an annual basis for all national levels of eventing (Starter-Advanced). More information including qualifying period, criteria, this year’s location, and more can be found here. (Their link to qualified riders and horses is broken but I’m sure at some point it’ll be fixed.)
Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships – The Adult Team Championships (ATC) take place in conjunction with the AEC. The ATC is the capstone event for the USEA Area Adult Rider Program Team Challenges. The ATC provides adults with the chance to compete as a team and represent their Area in a friendly and fun environment. More information about the ATC including qualifying period, criteria, and more can be found here.
USEF Eventing National Championships League – The USEF Eventing National Championships League (the League), is open to all U.S. FEI Eventing athletes competing at the CCI1*, CCI2*,CCI3* and/or CCI4* levels (no opt in necessary). Each FEI level has four leaderboards: Overall, Amateur, U25, and Professional.More information including participation period, how to win, and the location of the League final can be found here.
