There will be 3 events this year hosting FEH competitions in 2022:
June 25th – Larkin Hill will be running a Future Event Horse, Young Event Horse, and New Event Horse competition! Larkin ran an excellent FEH last year and due to the success of that they have added YEH and NEH. Let’s make sure to support them and keep these opportunities alive in Area 1!
July 31st – Apple Knoll Farm will be hosting an FEH competition, including FEH 4 year old classes. Information on this event.
August 20-21 GVRDC will be hosting an FEH competition in conjunction with their August Horse Trials.
The young horse programs are wonderful ways to get your young horses out in a safe and educational way. Feedback is helpful and the judges are understanding of babies and their “moments”! Please have a look at the Area 1 website for more information about these programs and feel free to direct any questions to AndreaJManley@gmail.com
YEH – Young Event Horse
This series is for 4 and 5 year olds – a great introduction to Eventing as an evaluation of future world-class athletes. Regardless of your plans for your horse’s future, the YEH is a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere ideal for young horses. The competition consists of two parts: dressage test and jumping with gallop.

FEH – Future Event Horse
The FEH focuses on yearlings to 4 year olds to identify future Eventing stars. This is a wonderful opportunity to expose your youngster to a show environment in a relaxed manner. For yearlings through 3 year olds this is an in-hand competition, with a similar format used in judging young Dressage horses. At the Championship level, 3 year olds will perform in a jump chute
FEH-4 year olds will walk, trot, and canter under saddle and then have their conformation evaluated. At the Championship level they will perform in a jump chute.

NEH – New Event Horse
Want a taste of Eventing in a low-key, low-stress atmosphere? Have a horse of any age with minimal Eventing experience? Or perhaps you are looking to try this new discipline with your trusty equine partner. This is the series for you! The NEH uses the same format, dressage test and an intro-BN level jump course.
