The Area 1 Young Rider Program is pleased to announce that five individuals will be attending the USEF Young Rider Eventing Championships later this month at Loch Moy Farm in Adamstown, Maryland. The Championships will take place in conjunction with The Maryland International + Horse Trials and run June 27 – 29. This is the second year the Championships, formally known as NAJYRC and NAYC, will take place at Loch Moy and last month it was announced the Championships will remain in Adamstown through 2027.
One athlete, Lyman Ordway and her Exces De Folie will compete in the CCI2*-S on a scramble team with another Area. Ordway has had a year full of successes including being named to the 2025 MARS Bromont Rising Program,placed in the top 5 at Fair Hill International April H.T. & CCI-S and secured 12th in a large division of 44 at the Carolina International CCI & Horse Trials and most recently won the CCIU252*-L earlier this month at the MARS Bromont CCI Three Day Event in Quebec, CAN. She is also a newly appointed member of the Young Rider Youth Council. Traveling in support of Ordway is co-council member, Trillian Hyde. More information about the Championships can be found here.
Three Area 1 Young Riders, Ellie Moran, Rory Weeks, and council member, Lexi Young will also attend the Championships to participate in USEA’s Youth Mentorship Program.
“The USEA Youth Mentorship Program gives a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run and officiate an international event, helps Young Riders and Intercollegiate athletes experience competition from the inside, as a part of the officiating and management teams, encourages furthering sport education, and helps youth athletes seek and identify career paths and job opportunities, network, communicate, and seek new experiences within the eventing.” More information on the Youth Mentorship Program can be found here.
