New National Fund for Education from the Heart of Area 1
USEA Foundation is proud to announce a new initiative – the Janet Briggs Fund for the Continuing Education of Licensed Officials – in memory of Area 1’s Janet Briggs. This fund reflects her life-long commitment to education, officiating and the sport of eventing.
Mrs. Briggs was the founder of one of the longest-running events in the United States, the University of New Hampshire Horse Trials. She ran the UNH Equine Program for decades and was a sought-after dressage judge around the US. It is an honor to have this national program named for one of Area 1’s stalwart members.
The new Fund is supported by the family, friends and former students of Janet Briggs, and your additional help would be greatly appreciated. Even if you may not have liked every dressage score she posted, there is almost no rider in Area 1 who did not benefit from Janet Brigg’s eagle eye and on-point comments.
