Area 1 eventing season is underway with about 290 ARP members. The Virtual Team challenge has 91 people participating on 13 teams. We have three new programs to highlight this year. Read below to find out more about the new programs and updates on your favorite ones. Please reach out with any questions!

Year End Volunteer Awards

New ARP award program to recognize the efforts of volunteers for Area 1 events. The top three volunteers for the season will receive prizes. Any volunteer activity that supports a sanctioned events counts towards the year end awards (set up, day of, tear down, etc). For those events using the USEA volunteer program app hours will be automatically tracked. For those events not using the app, there is a form on the Area 1 ARP section of the website that can be used for tracking and getting event personnel sign off. Win Some Wine Some Awards

If you have ever had an event not quite go your way this award program could make you feel a bit better.

The award will be offered at each Area 1 recognized event, for those ARP members who did not quite have the go they wanted. The prize is a travel drink tumbler allowing you to have some wine (or beverage of choice) while you whine about what went wrong.

At each event there will be 3-4 tumblers up for grabs: highest score overall, highest BN-N, highest T-P, highest I-A or FEI. Limit to one per season.

Prizes will be sent via mail to recipients. Winner’s names will only be announced collectively at the end of year, but feel free to post pictures if you receive one.

Young and the Rest of Us – Larkin

This challenge is for Adult Riders and Young Riders. Each team must have a minimum of two young or junior riders (under 25 years of age) and one ARP member, the fourth member can be any Area 1 eventer. Young/junior riders do not have to belong to the Young Rider Program (but are encouraged to be). The challenge will be held at Larkin Hill July 3-4th.

2021 Team Challenges

Course Brook & GVRDC

There will be two Area Adult Team Challenges this year. The first one will be at Course Brook July 24-25th and the second at GVRDC in August 21-22nd. Course Brook has a MT division and GVRDC has a Modified division which will be included in the team challenge (BN – Prelim).
Pick your own team or be assigned to one! All ARP members entered will be added to a team unless the member opts out.

ARP Event Socials

We will be hosting ARP socials at various events in Area 1 this year, as Covid safety guidelines allow. We are working with event organizers to coordinate the schedule. Stay tuned for the schedule of socials.
