Bettina Drummond – Balance and Awareness Clinic

May 15, 2019

Dates: June 28, 2019-June 30, 2019

These 3-day Balance and Awareness Clinics focus on bringing riders awareness of the habitual patterns that inhibit our ability to improve our partnerships with our horses.  Once these patterns are identified and addressed, we have the knowledge and tools to improve our self-use.  Clinic includes: 2 private mounted lessons with Bettina and unmounted sessions with a movement/body awareness practitioner who, under Bettina’s direction, will work with each rider both privately and with Bettina during one of the mounted sessions.

Clinic – $595 w/lunch  Optional 3rd private lesson with Bettina – $135

Stabling $25 per day     Participant housing on the farm $70 cottages /$65 house

Bettina Drummond is highly regarded in the United States and Europe. She was recently named “Honorary Écuyer” of Saumur with the Cadre Noir at the French National School of Equitation in Saumur, France. Bettina is only the second American to receive this honor. The other is George Morris. She is also only the second woman to be named Honorary Écuyer. The other is French Olympic dressage rider Margit Otto-Crépin. Bettina teaches the French Classical method of dressage following the tradition of the Portuguese Master Nuno Oliveira. Bettina spent 17 years in training with Master Oliveira, beginning at age seven. She earned the coveted spurs awarded to instructors at 17 and was recognized as a master trainer at 21. She was also influenced and coached by some of Europe’s finest trainers, including General Durand, Ecuyer en Chef and Commandant of the French National Equestrian School in Samur and Lieutenant Colonel Paolo Angioni of the Italian Cavalry. Bettina is actively working to preserve the art of horsemanship through a variety of educational programs and is a founding member of the Association for the Promotion of the Art of Horsemanship in America (www.apaha.us) Bettina travels across the U.S. and to France to teach and train and can occasionally be found performing exhibitions with fabulous horses, many of which are her own Lusitanos.
