Juliet is a lovely and correct mare, looking for an experienced home that could build a partnership with her. She shows enormous potential as a jumper, and with more training could most likely dabble in the 3′ jumpers or eventing with an experienced pilot. She is currently jumping 2’6 in gymnastics and small courses of 2′-2’3, but is very bold and has a huge jump, so will not be good for somebody learning to jump. She recently went on her first cross country school, and jumped ditches, banks, and various solid obstacles and was an absolute gem to trailer and bring off property. She also really enjoys hacking out alone or with other horses. On the flat, she is currently solid walk-trot-canter, and is using her back nicely at the walk and trot but still getting stronger at the canter.
Juliet is very low mileage for a thoroughbred of her age. She is impeccabily bred and was very succesful as a racehorse, winning over $100,000 (racing under the name “A Little Off”) and retired with clean legs/sound and was used as a broodmare, but unfortunately can no longer be bred due to complications.
This mare is incredibly sensible, intelligent and brave, but requires a confident experienced rider because she is sensitive and will sometimes test her rider/handler. She would be a terrific project for somebody who appreciates a smart mare and wants to put the time in to earn her trust. She gets along GREAT with other horses, has great feet, has never had any soundness or health issues, and trailers like a pro.
